About Us
Our Story
Once upon a time, our city was a blank canvas, its public spaces unadorned and unremarkable. But a local art teacher, Brenda Raub, had a vision of transforming these spaces into living, breathing works of art that would reflect our community’s diversity, character, and shared experiences. With that vision, Community Canvas was born.
Today, our organization is a vibrant community of artists, volunteers, and supporters passionate about using public art to connect people and transform our cityscape. We have brought color, creativity, and vitality to once-neglected walls and buildings through painting parties, community events, and collaboration with local businesses.
Our murals tell stories of our past, present, and future, celebrating our shared history and showcasing the unique perspectives of our neighbors from all walks of life. They are a testament to the power of creativity and connection in building strong, resilient communities.
At Community Canvas, everyone has a role in transforming our city.
Whether you’re an artist looking to share your talents, a business owner interested in sponsoring a mural, or a community member who wants to roll up your sleeves and get involved, we invite you to join us in this exciting, ongoing adventure of painting our way to a brighter, more beautiful future.
